Does your New Account Application Form have a statement included which mentions that you will be doing searches on their details provided by them on the form, and you will base your decision whether to trade with them, after obtaining a Government Approved Credit Report? Do you have a clause where they are signing the form, giving permission for you to be able to check their validity as a Business, and that they really are a registered business performing as per Australian Business Law? If not, this must be done urgently, before you sign up any new customer and hand over your stock to them.
